Hello!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my website. Here is some information about myself and hopefully will help summarise my services as an Mountaineering and Climbing instructor and the joy of climbing outside on rock and in wild places.

I offer personal instruction and guiding for climbers with specific goals — whether that’s classic UK routes such as Dream of White Horses on North Stack, Gogarth, Cenotaph Corner on Dinas Cromlech, or Great Bow Combination on Clogwyn du’r Arddu.

I have extensive personal experience in rock climbing and mountaineering worldwide. Highlights include climbing The Nose on El Capitan, Sheer Lunacy on Moonlight Buttress in Zion National Park, and many major routes in the European Alps. Alpine highlights include the Peuterey Integral to the summit of Mont Blanc, and climbing the Grand Montets Ridge to the summit of the Aiguille Verte — sleeping on the summit and watching the headtorches of the UTMB race far below.

I am particularly passionate about climbing in the UK mountains and on sea cliffs. With over 12,000 miles of coastline, the UK offers some of the most adventurous and spectacular climbing in the world — enough to last several lifetimes however there are some unique individuals who probably have in half a lifetime!

For technical rock climbing courses, a 1:2 instructor-to-client ratio is required. I can also cater for families, small groups of hillwalkers, and activity providers.

Objectives such as Dream of White Horses — I strongly believe in spending a day or two climbing together beforehand to assess skills and build trust. Essential skills, including rope ascension using prusiks, must be well established, and climbing together beforehand ensures the safest and most enjoyable experience for everyone.
