Skill level: Intermediate climbers with basic outdoor climbing experience

What You Will Learn
Selection and use of traditional gear: nuts, cams, slings
Placing secure protection and building anchors
Efficient rope management and slinging techniques
Route finding and climbing strategies on multi-pitch routes
Assessing rock quality and managing risk in natural terrain
Self-rescue basics and partner rescue procedures
Rough Week Plan (Weather Dependent)
Day 1: Introduction and Gear Familiarisation
Classroom session covering kit, knots, and safety checks
Practical exercises on placing gear on artificial gear boards and easy rock
Day 2-3: Single-Pitch Trad Climbing
Move to graded single-pitch routes suited to group level
Focus on gear placement, rope running, and leading techniques
Day 4: Adapting to Weather
In the event of poor weather, alternative sessions such as advanced knot tying, self-rescue practice indoors, or climbing conditioning workouts
If clear, move to more challenging climbs practising anchor building and belay transitions
Day 5-6: Multi-Pitch Trad Climbing
Apply skills on multi-pitch routes with instructor supervision
Emphasise route reading, communication, and efficient transitions
Day 7: Review and Independent Climb
Guided climbs with reduced instructor involvement to encourage autonomy
